Why do you want to Make Money on the Internet?Written by Abdulrehman on January 26th, 2009
Alright, I know there are a couple of solid marketing heads reading this but when you’re beginning with making money on the internet, the question is ‘Why do you want to make money?’. Look you’ve got to be true and straight-forward and almost half of the people in this niche would not have considered this before they entered it. Why do you need to make money? Well, I asked this question from a couple of bloggers and here were the common answers:
Answer 1: To make a few extra bucks.
Answer 2: To make good money and support your living online.
Answer 3: To show off.
Answer 4: To make money at home, i.e. not moving out of the house.
Answer 5: To become famous, since almost every person who is making big money online get’s famous in a big buzz. Take for granted John Chow(He got a magazine cover) or Shoemoney.
Now here is my answer to this question:
My answer: I want to make money by any means (almost) and according to the place I’m living and my age, this was the only way which was most accessible and easy for me. Most importantly I want to make money for free because I don’t want to get scammed online. However, since I’m fully not committed to this and secondly it will be more of an experience and learning for me.
How your Answer to this Question reflects the Money you Make
Behind every action is an aim, same goes here. If your main aim was just to show off then you can quite easily make no more than $5 per month(Almost your hosting Fees). I’ll be frank enough to say that right now I do not have to make a living online, I’ve got more important stuff to take care of, after all I’m still in school. But as for the aim I had and the progress I am making, it’s pretty much equivalent to the effort made.
If you’re determined to make a living online, that means you have a lot or shall I say all the time to work, whereas a part-time blogger may be successful but not as much. I spend less than 1 hour on my blog daily where there is a huge mess to take care of. However, with time my efforts really have built and I make some money, which is increasing day by day.
As I see it, the most important thing to know when you want to make money on the internet is that why do you want to do so? You could work at some store and earn at least $1000 a month depending on where you’re living. So what makes you turn to internet as an alternative? Answer this question, write it on a piece of paper and read it everyday. Your motivation will only increase and so will the returns on your efforts to make money on the internet.

I am Abdulrehman Agha, the guy behind 3arn.Net. I am 16 years old, study in grade 10 and live in Pakistan. I started this blog in the hope of making money on the internet, sharing my computer experiences and proving that despite many barriers, one can make money on the internet.
My reason for wanting to make money online is because this is where I get my income to pay my bills. I am a full time freelancer, and I have to explore all means for me to get income from various sources.
It would be a different situation if I had a full time job. I would probably show off to others that earning online is possible.
Being famous is something that’s hard to achieve, but possible. A few lucky individuals can do it.

I have to quote this: “Answer 3: To show off.”
I think most people would be humble about their income from their online sources, however I think it would be a good way to build reputation as people would like to know how you do so. Though it may be arrogant, I think not so.

For me, it’s the little extra money. I see the Internet as a nice secondary income and if I can get it to be a few extra thousand dollars a year, I can turn that money around and invest it to build up a nice stockpile. It’s by no means free money with the time it requires, but it’s a great way to start building a nest.

I want to make money online for 2 reasons:
1) Because I can
2) It is a lot more accessible for me than offline work - Im still in school

My motivation lies somewhere between #1 and #2. I certainly want to make more than just a few extra bucks, but I’m not looking (yet) to make my living online. I’d be happy to supplement my present income by several thousand dollars a month. This would make me comfortable and allow me the freedom to do some important things I’d like to do. The money I can/will earn is not my primary goal. It’s just a means to an end. The primary goal is being able to do the things the extra money will allow me to do. That’s my motivation; that’s what keeps me going.
