One of the fastest growing stat counters includes Whos.Amung.Us, although it’s major growth started in Late 2007 but recently I started seeing it’s widget on many of my favorite blogs so I thought of giving it a try.
It was started by two Canadians namely Bart Bobrowski and Christopher Shannon, both graduated from the University of Calgary. At the time when I was writing this article whos.amung.us was serving 44,232,434,240 widgets and 238,797 users, which is a big amount. There are extra features being added to the service soon which would make it even better. I was amazed with their service because of the following reasons:
- You do not have to sign up, just copy a tracking code and your website is on the scene!
- It gives you live stats all the time since it works on AJAX.
- It tells you how many visitors are on the website, on which page they are, and which country they are from.
- It is absolutely free!

I’m going to give this tool a try. Right now I use google analytics and it isn’t real time. It works great and provides a ton of information, you just have to wait a day.
I think if they made it real time it would make a huge improvement in usage.
