Great ideas , you must be making a lot of money because you have such a good business mind :-)
But how many days did it take to get your first paid ad ?

    Abdulrehman Agha Reply:

I got it from a contact so I got it in the first few weeks.

At this point, I’m only really using Entrecard. I like their interface.

I know I’m really wasting a lot of possible leads or possible conversions on my site, but my plate is too with school and work to devote the time it takes to get real ads going.

  2. Is it applicable to blogspot ?

    Abdulrehman Agha Reply:

Yea, it depends if you’re monetizing your blog with private advertising!

  3. I usually just take off ad spots if they’re empty. Affiliate banners never seemed to do me any good.

  4. Some good tips here. It’s important to make it look like people are advertising on your blog and that it’s popular so until you can get committed advertisers, it’s good to do swaps that will benefit both parties.

  5. I will normally either take them down to distract the readers less or just use a few affiliate banners

    Abdulrehman Agha Reply:

I wouldn’t call it distracting the readers, because as for those blogs which have dozens of completely useless widgets, I don’t think that this will be distraction!

  6. These are excellent suggestions. Thanks for explaining the benefits of not just leaving the slots empty.

  7. Some people also decide to put google adsense in those empty spaces. This is also a good way of making your website work for you (or just pay for itself). I think that the difference in revenue as compared to ads purchased beforehand with money is minimal.

    Abdulrehman Agha Reply:

Personally, I’m very much against Google Adsense because it clearly exploits it’s publishers. First it gives them low returns on clicks and when he makes some money, they cancel his account for no reason!

I usually just plugin adsense when i have empty spaces

This article is really very helpful especially for the beginners. they still have a long way to go, but i’m sure they’ll have something to learn with your article.

  11. Stu says:

Do you think that too many ad slots looks tacky?

Also, do you think they decrease the value of the ads themselves, being tucked away in a pile of other similar looking ads.

Wouldn’t there be better value in selling 4 slots at $50 each than 10 slots at $10 each?

really nice blog u have right here. having some ads on your page is a good indicator to potential advertisers that you know what you’r doing.
