Turning a Visitor into a Reader

Written by Abdulrehman on June 9th, 2008

Growing a normal blog into a famous one takes a lot of time and hard work. Visitors alone do not count in making a blog a hit but it is the readers who play an important part in doing so. Visitors who visit the Blog by clicking a link often do read, however there are less chances for people at a Traffic exchange to read your blog.

I believe this is one of the most important things for a blogger to know about. Grabbing the attention of the visitor is the main aspect of doing so. Things that actually to get attention include cool graphics, pictures of girls, something too awesome or too awkward.

I remember, one thing that got my attention on a traffic exchange was the picture of a baby with weird teeth, it said in the bubble, “Now that I have your attention, read what I have to say!” This was a very smart way of getting my attention and I actually did read What he had to “say”.

Once you have the visitors attention, make sure that there’s something worth while in it to keep the visitor on the blog. Impress the visitor to such an extent that he/she is literally forced to visit your blog again. You can impress the visitor by showing him one of your best articles or showing some of your blog’s hot earnings, feed count or any other cool thing you could think of.

Make the visitor feel that they are not at the wrong website. Talk fully on the topic and give quality content. Never use copied material, because if the visitor has already seen the same stuff, then that’s the end. You could never expect him to come again.

Be sure to interact with your readers, this will attract more visitors to become readers. Once someone comments on your blog, or signs up for feed by mail, he’s a reader. Now you know why you’re reading this article? That’s because you’re a reader!

I started a blog previous month and their is an increase in traffic. I keep my themes, articles and widgets well organised so that my blog looks great. But I have very less readers, visitors come and they go without reading another article.
I hope that after following your tips, I will get my blog readers up to a new level :)
