The Short-Cut to Getting Backlinks to a Post

Written by Abdulrehman on January 18th, 2009

This is a follow-up post to ‘When Google found it and indexed it

Backlinks to an article can really help it make it’s way to the top search results and as I had discussed earlier. This time I’ll tell you how I got a few backlinks easily which helped my article climb the search results to the first page. It always takes time, in my case it took more than 2 months, so be patient.

You will not be overwhelmed with excitement when you hear this, because you would either already know about this or probably you didn’t pay much attention towards it. Yes folks, what I’m talking about is CommentLuv enabled blogs. You might have under-estimated the power of that plug-in but I’ll let you know how exactly you can make good use of it.

Below are a few links to lists of blogs which are CommentLuv enabled:

commentluvEach list is equally good although the third one is the best. Just type ‘CommentLuv Blogs’ in Google and you’ll find dozens of more lists. Make sure that the CommentLuv enabled Blog that you go to is not a nofollow because 80%  of them are nofollow, has quality content and most importantly it is related to your niche. So here is what you do:

  1. Open up a list.
  2. Search for a blogs related to your niche which have quality content.
  3. Comment on a few articles of the blog that are related to the article that you’re promoting.
  4. 10-15 links would be good enough.
  5. You’re done!

It’s pretty simple but although the ‘to-do’ list above may seem very small but each word is very important and in case you don’t understand it, you can forget dreaming about getting quality links. Be sure to check that the link you get after you comment is linking directly to your article and that it is not a nofollow link, else it is of no good.

I am also using comment luv. I notice that you are not using it. Why?

I already have the top commentators’ list on the sidebar, so that is equivalent for those seeking for backlinks, that is more than 10 links with a PR2+. Although I might use it in the future!

Thanks for sharing commentluv lists. It is exactly what I need for link building. Recently I compiled a list of dofollow blog lists, but it takes time to find commentluv blogs among them.

If you’ve not tried I’ll recommend giving it a try. It is worth really worth it. But be sure to read the ‘to-do’ list properly because one mistake can spill your juice! ;)

Commentluv is definitely a great plugin for commentors and bloggers.

    Thanks for the lists.

Not to spam or anything, but I re-read your post again. The first paragraph is misleading.

Your spot in the search engine result page has nothing to do with the number of backlinks you have or your pagerank.

Having a million backlinks doesn’t guarantee top placement, it is all based on keywords used in the search.

Commentluv will NOT effect your place in SERPs in anyway, unless of course you get yourself banned for some reason.

This is a topic SEO experts have debated for years so I think I wouldn’t start a very big topic. But yeah, as far as my experience counts. Backlinks from related pages with related anchor text with high PR can matter way more than what keywords could do in a year! Everyone has their own point of view and experience so I value your opinion!

    Abdulrehman Agha Reply:

Well, that seems good enough. Keep traffic sideways, I’d rather prefer having more friends if CommentLuv can help me do so! ;)

  8. I have downloaded this plugin but don’t what hold me back to activate this on my blog

  9. Yep - that’s the way to go
I lik using the top commentators widget first of all for link building, then dofollow blogs, then commentluv - top commentators just seems most effective to me

  10. Thanks for explaining CommentLuv. I never really knew waht it was. I have one question, though. You say we should search for blogs related to our niche. I understand the benefit of doing that. But does it hurt to comment on sites that are not related to our niche also? There aren’t a whole lot of sites out there related to my niche that use CommentLuv, and I figure that as long as an unrelated site is a quality site why not get the backlink from it anyway. Thanks.

It’s just something which raises curiosity in the minds of other readers, instead of visiting your blog they get to know what you’re talking about on your blog and if they are interested they’ll directly click that!
