There’s a really great tool online called Smush.it that will compress and optimize your images even more after you’ve done some tweaks in Photoshop, I highly recommend it.
I made a post that was really heavy on images (it needed to be) so it’s a little rough loading, I may have to optimize some of them so people don’t bounce from the page.

You have to, in some ways, treat you blog as a business or at least a platform for your online assets.
From your blog, you can build up and up, it’s your base of operation on the net.
- Free Money, Is There Really Such A Thing?
I think we all get too caught up with the hype around making “free money” because it’s this wonderful idea but unfortunately, a pipe dream.

Just because more people have access to DSL and Cable doesn’t mean sites should abandon dial-up visitors. There are still vast regions of the united states and definately in other countries that have access no fast than dial-up. Cutting them out of the picture isn’t a smart marketing move.
A usefull tool for those of us without photoshop is evjo pic resizer. Works with single pics or whole directories at a time. You can get it from evjosoft.com for free although it is donationware.
Another alternative is to use a photohosting site and load the pics from there. Saves me a ton of bandwidth and also earns a bit. You can see it in action on my site.
