Nowadays, more and more blogs are springing up which have a good topic, they rank good but their content is crap. Instead of writing articles, every next post is another aim of making money by literally turning the whole blog to a spam blog. I was recently searching on google for a mind game that I play, and I was looking for ways to improve my ranking on the game. The first result showed up a blog made on blogger, and it seemed fully dedicated to the game. Reading on to the blog, I saw that the articles had pretty catchy titles, which for a moment made me think, “This is the best resource!”. But soon I saw, every article was leading to at least 2-3 click bank products, and this whole blog was not, in any way made to assist the players of that mind game. If that blog would have been even a *little* helpful to me, I might have considered subscribing in, or maybe even buying an e-book which the blog author was suggesting. But instead bombarding the blog with crap and affiliate products is more like killing your profits with both hands. It clearly shows the lack of marketing skills which that person had, because the blog was getting at least a few thousand hits a month which could’ve been easily converted into leads. So, if you’re using a blog for marketing affiliate products, please note that you can easily improve your profits by first providing a quality content. This gives an image of you being an expert on the topic, and then you can recommend a few products which will make you guaranteed money. Money needs to be made step-by-step:

You’re not likely to go back to that site, which means that that person has lost a potential customer.
I don’t agree wit you completely though with your outline above. I think you can still work affiliate links into your posts, as long as the POST HAS VALUE ITSELF. (ie it would still be a good post without the affiliate link)

I went away and thought about this last night, and have formed another opinion….
It depends on what you want your site to achieve, if you’re purely after affiliate sales from search engine optimised pages, then your content really doesn’t matter.
I think it’s a horses for courses thing. I’d be interested in your opinions on whether proper community sites which occasionally promote affiliate products would be a better dollar / time investment than just simple thin affiliate sites?

I’ll admit it’s easy for new bloggers, who find they can get “paid” for blogging, to get sucked into crap posting for a couple bucks. I think, though, if they actually work on their blogging and use social networks to promote it, they quickly see everyone posting about the quality of content issues and try to improve their quality to stay in the game long term. It’s a learning curve in my opinion.

Again, it’s all a delicate balance. You want to make money on the web, but forcing products down a reader’s throat is not the best way to do it. Some people get overly agressive trying to sell affiliate products and it’s not worth reading. They won’t build a user base and so, they won’t make the money they’re trying to make.
It’s all about finding the balance between making sales and building a readership

Comment from dummy for step 4 above. Write a review of affiliate product mean “paid to review” program, if i am not mistake, so it will decrease our google pagerank because uncle google didn’t “like” it. Correct me if i misunderstood.
