27.7 million blogs? That’s insane. I wonder how many unique bloggers there are and how many of those blogs are regularly updated.

  • It’s hard to keep up now as there are so many blogs out there all competing for attention. You brought up some good points here as its important to try and differentiate yourself as much as possible and to network with everyone.

  • Provide Content, not your Affiliate Campaigns!
Again, it’s all a delicate balance. You want to make money on the web, but forcing products down a reader’s throat is not the best way to do it. Some people get overly agressive trying to sell affiliate products and it’s not worth reading. They won’t build a user base and so, they won’t make the money they’re trying to make.

It’s all about finding the balance between making sales and building a readership

  • Has Live Search Lost It’s Market Share?
So I thought it would be interesting to look at my results from the different search engines. Here’s my numbers for March so far:

    google (organic) 13,696 51.31%
    yahoo (organic) 7,042 26.38%
    msn (organic) 335 1.26%

As you can see from this, MSN is almost inconsequential. It’s roughly 1/50 of Google’s results, whereas Yahoo is 1/2. Show’s how limited MSN’s performance is.

  • Has Live Search Lost It’s Market Share?
That’s where the question arises. CAN somebody take back some of Google’s marketshare? Is it even possible?
  • Has Live Search Lost It’s Market Share?
I have a feeling Live Search gets minimal amounts of traffic. I’ve noticed that I almost get no traffic from it even though my rankings would be similar to what they are on google. I’ll try and find my actual numbers later to post similar comparisons
  • Be Yourself - Stop Copying
There used to be a service that you could use where you could enter your site and it would crawl the web looking for duplicate content to that found on your pages. I unfortunately don’t remember what the site was anymore, but it made it a lot easier to find when people were copying the things you wrote.

  1. Thanks for the tips. I just still difficult to be creative. May be I will try to it. But I always to make a uniqe article on my blog.

I have to yet to write on creativeness, it’s more important than you think it might be, and yeah being unique is essential to a high-profile blogging personality!

  2. I agree. But I am searching information whether hardwork done on blog is good if a person is full-time blogger. Mostly people talk about wordpress and domain.
I do not have money to invest nor I know wordpress and knowledge and I only find blog easy but does my hardwork is good to continue to earn.
    ???

  3. Asoma says:

I agree with you for placing “Be Unique” at the first place

  4. “show yourself to the world” - i’m guilty of this, i’ve opened a new blog last month and i haven’t touched the default “about page”. thanks for the reminder!

  5. Being active is a big one. Commenting on other blogs plus using social networks such as Twitter and Facebook to get to know readers and other bloggers is key to driving more traffic to your site and getting it to stand out from the rest.

  7. It’s hard to keep up now as there are so many blogs out there all competing for attention. You brought up some good points here as its important to try and differentiate yourself as much as possible and to network with everyone.

  8. Great tips. It is important to try several things to get noticed.

  9. Instead of just a list, you should probably add them for an RSS reader and keep an eye on it while you’re on the computer. They usually refresh every 30 mins. So when a new post comes up you can hope over and leave a comment quickly.

  10. This is an important subject, given the stat you cited (25000+ blogs all talking about the same thing). And it’s only going to get harder as more people decide to join in. I think being active is the most important key to getting attention. Otherwise it will be very difficult for your uniqueness and creativity to be noticed.

Well that is just an estimate, there are way more than 1 million blogs. I’ll give you a hint, Technorati is tracking 27.7 million blogs, which is not ALL!

  11. One of the reasons I got out of the MMO niche was that it was just too hard for me to be unique - there were already a huge amount of unique big players, so I changed niches

  12. Being unique is the one thing that everyone should aim for. You won’t find many readers by simply posting the same stuff as everyone - in most cases there’s someone who writes about the same thing better. Try to find your own niche and stick with it. Hopefuly you’ll be appreciated.

The informations you shared is very true. Being unique as a blogger is very difficult to achieve because most of the time, you need to be like everyone due to competition. but being unique is still very important so gather more people since your uniqueness can make you very distinct to others.

  16. First $100 says:

Being unique is very important eventhough there’s a tough competition since it makes you distinct from other blogs and you can gather more people as well due to that creative uniqueness.
