  1. Alex says:

Ha! That pic with multiple toolbars rocks! How could anyone do that?

    Abdulrehman Agha Reply:

As long as I used Internet Explorer I never filled up the whole browser with so many toolbars but as for Firefox, it’s clean 90% of the time. Although adding a lot of toolbars may get you to the same place. What I like about Firefox is that it normally gives protections against malicious material which Internet Explorer doesn’t!

  2. P Moore says:

I use IE and Firefox interchangably. No real preference… I have not tried out Google Chrome yet, but I am thinking about doing so soon.

  3. Gem says:

I think more tech-savvy persons prefer Firefox. But I believe many big organizations still stick to that old IE.

I find this post funny - but true!

    Abdulrehman Agha Reply:

It depends on what type of company it is, if it barely has work on the internet then Internet Explorer for sure else no one is still dragging with it, most have switched to Firefox!

  4. Gennaro says:

MIcrosoft still has a browser? :)

I love Safari. The bookmark bar is so clean and efficient. It’s never a distraction. Perfect design for a browser. No arguing against Firefox. It’s a great product, but I still go with Safari. With Chrome coming along, it’s a crowded field.

  5. I hate Internet explorer beyond anyone’s imagine.

  6. Tom says:

I use firefox, it´s simply the best browser.IE has problems with functionality and I just hate using it.

  7. IE is in the same boat with Mac. BLEECH! The only time I use IE is if I’m working somewhere and they won’t let me use Firefox.

    Abdulrehman Agha Reply:

Same here, I install firefox every month on my dad’s computers in his office when I use them after they get uninstalled. 15 minutes are worth wasting rather than wasting hours on IE!

  8. Tumblemoose says:

Geez, I’m sorry to say it but yes, I hate IE that much.it’s got to do with clunky stuff and not being able to option things in or out of my browser scheme.

Also, I’m irritated because I always have to go through special little hoops whenever I publish anything so that the freakin’ thing will show up ok in IE (When it shows up just fine in EVERY other browser.

Thanks for the opportunity to vent - wow, THAT feels better

  9. Daniel says:

As someone who writes web apps IE has wasted thousands of hours of my time, hate is not even a strong enough word to express how I feel about IE.

  10. Linda704 says:

I was fine w/ ie until I started using Twitter on a Vista OS machine. Because I kept clicking on links in tweets, I’d have mucho windows open and ie would have a tantrum and quit, thus losing all the things I wanted to go back and read. So, I downloaded Firefox, and haven’t had a problem. I love that it opens new links in tabs and it asks you to save tabs for next session, and the spell check–so handy when posting comments! I even downloaded it on my xp machine. Happy, happy!

    Abdulrehman Agha Reply:

It seems that the only reason you’re using Firefox for is because of the tabs. Well IE7+ do support tabs! But still firefox is firefox! :P

    Linda704 Reply:

Yes, I know IE7 has tabs, but when you click on a link, it opens a new window. I like how Firefox opens in a new tab, so you don’t have this mosh of windows open.

  11. Jayjay Jayme says:

You can’t blame people on Windows for using IE, if you try and remove IE or even stuff like Messenger or WMP you can cause a lot of problems with Windows.

Installing Firefox as well as IE, and Pidgin as well as MSN, can also cause slight conflicts and extreme software bloat.

Saying that, I use Firefox but I don’t use Windows.

    Abdulrehman Agha Reply:

I’ve been using Windows for about 8 years now, and almost 2 years using firefox. There’s no need to delete it. I always have four browsers installed in my computer, you never know when they might come in handy!

  12. DarrinW says:

I don’t really hate IE, in fact I still use it despite Firefox being my default browser. I also use Chrome occasionally.

    Abdulrehman Agha Reply:

So we finally have one guy here who doesn’t hate Internet Explorer. I like your spirit regarding Internet Explorer, and probably one day you’ll wake up to find the difference, no offence! :)

  13. Bigus Dickus says:

    IE - Firefox

They can both kiss my ass…
    Opera rules!!!!

    Abdulrehman Agha Reply:

Opera is better than Internet Explorer but if you compare it with Firefox, then no way!

  14. Anraiki says:

Internet Explorer 6 is the ultimate nightmare for all “cross browser” specialist.

    1. MSIE 7.x 24238695 (42%)
    2. MSIE 6.x 19706632 (34%)
    3. FireFox 10017648 (17%)

Remind me to abandon Firefox when I am designing.

  15. Um, yeah, as a normal internet user and as a web developer I have a strong hatred of IE - I just dont see how the rest of the world still suffers like they do…

  16. I still use both IE and Firefox, although I’m steadily moving toward Firefox more and more. I just seem to have far fewer problems with it and its functionality is better. But I can’t say I hate IE. I just like Firefox more.

  17. Firefox wins for Firebug for me. That basically is a requirement for any internet based development. The main reason I switched away from IE was that it didn’t have tabbed browsing at the time.

  18. Megalit says:

Long Live Firefox ! Nice post !

  19. This is really great, and to think I stumbled accross this site in a random search for something completely different. If you want I will give you the keywords I was searching it might help.

  20. All three of them got their own features  I’ve all three installed on my pc… my comments on all the browsers… as follows..

    I.E. 8 : Good Browser, some bugs around. ( Occassionally ) ;)

F.F. 3 : Heck !!!!! the worst browser I’ve ever  . It consumes lotsa memory. ( I tried to avoid this browser, but some websites support only this one… so I’ve it in my PC :!: )

Chrome : This is my default browser. :D . I’m really loving it :)

    Abdulrehman Agha Reply:

I’d be okay with the third comment but are you really serious on the first and second. Finally, we DO have people because of whom IE is still going on, keep it up man! :)

  21. marco says:

Do Web Developers Hate Internet Explorer? For me, YES. In fact, making websites work on all browsers is a headache. I am using Firefox primarily on creating websites; now when I test it in IE I was bombarded with all sorts of errors! Take note that the same page works perfectly in FF and Chrome and Safari.

What’s more is that, IE is not adherent to web standards.

I wonder how Microsoft WebDevs make websites? :D

Anyway, I wanna DUMP Internet Explorer out of our window. If not because of my ‘job’ Internet Explorer should have been long gone on my PC.

  22. Anson says:

I love IE and I have been using it all my life…. I have never have had problems with it. And I have tried all of the other browsers. Firefox is slow as hell (well at least FF 3.5.2 is). I kinda like Chrome but it doesn’t look good to me…. And safari freezes all the time… So i’m gonna go with 70% of the world and use IE (I’m using 8 so that might be why I love it.)

  23. Awesome post as always. Firefox is my favourite browser and I hate Internet explorer. IE is getting slower and slower and is full of bugs and is a invitation gateway for hackers and malware attack. I started using Firefox only because Internet Explorer browser used to crash every time i used to open it. So in a a way I am thankful to IE who made me fall in love with Firefox.

  24. Nem says:

I am a webdeveloper and I really hate Explorer.
You make something which works great in Firefox, Chrome, Safari, etc., and then you check it in IE… and it doesn’t work…

  25. ginny says:

I downloaded firefox because I found that IE would not print using windows 7 on a broadband wireless system
