This is a follow-up post to ‘When Google found it and indexed it‘
Backlinks to an article can really help it make it’s way to the top search results and as I had discussed earlier. This time I’ll tell you how I got a few backlinks easily which helped my article climb the search results to the first page. It always takes time, in my case it took more than 2 months, so be patient.
You will not be overwhelmed with excitement when you hear this, because you would either already know about this or probably you didn’t pay much attention towards it. Yes folks, what I’m talking about is CommentLuv enabled blogs. You might have under-estimated the power of that plug-in but I’ll let you know how exactly you can make good use of it.
Below are a few links to lists of blogs which are CommentLuv enabled:
Each list is equally good although the third one is the best. Just type ‘CommentLuv Blogs’ in Google and you’ll find dozens of more lists. Make sure that the CommentLuv enabled Blog that you go to is not a nofollow because 80% of them are nofollow, has quality content and most importantly it is related to your niche. So here is what you do:
- Open up a list.
- Search for a blogs related to your niche which have quality content.
- Comment on a few articles of the blog that are related to the article that you’re promoting.
- 10-15 links would be good enough.
- You’re done!
It’s pretty simple but although the ‘to-do’ list above may seem very small but each word is very important and in case you don’t understand it, you can forget dreaming about getting quality links. Be sure to check that the link you get after you comment is linking directly to your article and that it is not a nofollow link, else it is of no good.

While many of you must be thinking about the new theme you see settled in place, with some bug fixing under process. Well, I thought it was about time for a much better 3arn.Net theme. The last theme was quite easy for me to make because of the less complicated divisions and features. But this theme, has brought for me, a lot of work and after working on the theme for about 1 month, I can now feel the fruit of hard-work! Like everybody else, you would also want to know why I made a new theme, I’ll list up the reasons:
- The upper fold(The area which can be seen without scrolling down) was not fully optimized and because of the initial design it was hard to put in exactly what I wanted.
- There was no menu on the whole blog.
- The division which contained articles and other text had a very dark color, usually it is preferred white, and once again since I had lost the design template that I made, it was hard to edit.
- The design elements were literally held by threads(I’m serious), you pull the thread and the whole design collapses
, plus pathetic editing had made my blog ugly in front of Google.
- There were too many errors, rather than knowing where to start, I started a making a new theme.
- Lastly, I simply wanted a new design!
If anyone says making a theme is easy, well I’m in a full position to comment on that! All that I am doing to Make Money on the Internet, is not as easy as it seems. Making a very basic theme with less designing more like free themes may not be as difficult as making a custom one. If you want to know where the most hard-work is put, just look for something you think is really simple, ‘That’s just hand-written HTML’ in other words. That is where I worked really hard.
Yes, it is a fact I am not too familiar with PHP, and then when you’re working and editing PHP, it sure is difficult. I’ll give you a hint: I spent 2 days working on the widget in the sidebar which says Recent Articles! You might be wondering why, just because I did not want each link to break into a second line if it was long, so it just displays the first 40 characters of the title followed by a ‘…’. But now it sure feels great to see the design alive and running flying about.
Your Part
It was my job to make a new theme and do all the work, but I need some help from you as well, now you’ve got to play your part. My judgment of colors and font is not very good, and although I feel very excited about the new design if you think that the previous one was better then please let me know. Any suggestion on the new design would also be highly appreciated. Thanks in Advance!

While saying ‘I am making a budget’ seems pretty simple, making one involves a lot of work. I was busy since the last week because I was organizing an event in my school and yes, I was the one preparing the budget. Preparing a budget for a household is not very difficult, but when it comes to an event and you’re pretty uncertain about the number of people coming and money’s in-flow and out-flow is active all the time, it does become hard to keep track! If each of these things are involved, then consider that you’re in for a tough-time:
- The money is really limited, and the tasks involving money are way more, in other words risk of money.
- You are not sure about some variable factor such as the number of people coming.
- Other factors depending on the variable factor, such as food would depend solely on the number of people coming.
- Some unexpected expenses are bound to occur which you’re not aware of.
Well, I was a target for each of the problems but still I managed. Here are 6 pieces of advice that I can offer when you’re making a budget for almost anything on s small-scale:
- Always be sure of the total resources available, if you’re not so sure don’t exaggerate the resources, it is best to keep it less than expected, as surplus budget will not hurt, but deficit would cause trouble!
- Make sure you have noted all expenses, if you’re experiencing problems then consult some friends to remind you of some expenses which you’re not aware of.
Be sure to add even the smallest expense like pens, etc. because they really make your finals differ if you don’t add them.
- Stick to your budget, this is the most important thing! Don’t move even a single millimeter out of your budget’s range. If some expense occurs which you were not aware of you can either try to avoid it, or postpone it until your current budget is no more in progress.
- Keep an accounts book to make accounts of each and every transaction that occurs because forgetting where you spent money can be very painful. You want to be sure how much money is present in your wallet just for counter-checking.
- Make sure about the market price of the items you put in expenses, estimates would be of no good.
Best of luck with your budget, these 6 points are sure to come in handy and keep your budget on track!

By saying this I prove all those people wrong who say that putting the widget does improve your ranking. I am not saying this on estimation basis, but I’m going to prove it right here. As you may have noticed a few days ago I installed alexa widget and I did see a spike in my alexa graph, however that was the actual number of users with alexa toolbar that visited my website. To prove my point, I checked the code of the alexa widget which is a script pointing to a .js script. Curiously, I opened it and to my surprise found nothing but three functions, namely: AlexaSiteStatsWidget (For getting the code of the widget) , getFullURL(For getting the webite’s URL) and encode64(For putting both onto the page).

Now, if this really does improve Alexa ranking then there should be some script in it which tracks a user as well as his country, etc. Nothing like this was present here and hence it is proved that putting the alexa widget on the website is of little no use. Although you may put it on for showing off your site rank. Are you still having the Alexa Widget at your blog and if no then what what do you think about this? Even famous bloggers like Yaro Starak beleived in this!

According to John Chow’s blog, a poll with a topic ‘Why do you comment on a blog?’ was conducted which had a total of 599 voters, 43% of them indicated that they comment on a blog for traffic. I suppose only 10% people comment with an intention other than getting traffic, and bloggers like me put up a top commentators widget to reward them for commenting. As a part of getting good ranking for keywords on search engines, people use those keywords instead of their name to get a good position on the search engine results for that specific keyword. But since the top commentator’s list shows the name used with the number of comments(which are the part of the link). If you don’t know yet, it will not help you in SEO.
For example, I commented on a few blogs with my name ‘Abdulrehman’ and after getting on the top commentators list of about 5 blogs, after a week I did a search for my name on google. Not even tenth page showed up my website, then I search for terms like “Abdulrehman(3), Abdulrehman(18), Abdulrehman(7)” and for each my website showed up first which means I was SEOing for these terms, which means that I can do little or nothing about it about ranking for the search term ‘Abdulrehman’.
So being a considerate blogger, I care for my commentators, and for their convenience removed the comment counter from being being a part of the link, it still shows up but as simple text, not a part of the comment. It will not do you any harm for doing such a favor for your commentator as it is really easy. All you have to do is make little changes to the Top Commentators plugin. Here’s what you’ve got to do:
- Open Dashboard.
- Click Plugins.
- Scroll down and look for the Top commentator plugin’s row, in front of it there will be a link ‘Edit’, click it.
- Right click in the text-area and click Select All, Paste the entire content from this text file into it and click ‘Update File’. Alternatively you can check step 6.
- You’re Done
- As in this image, look for this part in the text-area and cut and paste the code shown in the picture and then click on ‘update File’:

Once you’re done making the adjustment to the Plugin, and the number of comments with every commentator is not a part of the link. If you experience any problems, feel free to ask me. If it works without any problems, do leave a few good words! This is for the good of your commentators, now 3arn.Net is even better for commenting.
Update: An update of Top Commentators widget came on January 5th, the link to the text file in the article has been updated, but now there are two places where you have to make this changing in case you do not copy/paste the content of the text file. Search for the same thing 2 times on the document and do as told in the article two times, one will be for using Top Comentators with their Gravatar and the other for the simple text top commentators widget.
