A Goodbye Kiss from Iraq

Written by Abdulrehman on December 15th, 2008

It seems that the Iraqi people are not too fond of US Ex-President George W. Bush, because in a recent press conference in Iraq, an Iraqi reporter threw his shoes at Ex-President Bush. I know that probably by now you’ll be laughing over it, I hope a few screen-shots would give you a PROPER idea of the whole shoe hitting scene:

1st Shoe

1st shoe

2nd Shoe

2nd shoe

Soon after this the reporter was taken down by guards, and sent out of the room. Bush himself stated that this was a very bizarre experience for him. At throwing the first shoe, the man shouted “It is the farewell kiss, you dog!”, and mockingly Bush remarked after the whole scene “It doesn’t bother me,” Bush said of the incident. “If you want the facts, it was a size 10 shoe that he threw.”

This was perhaps more of a retaliation from an iraqi whose country was invaded by USA or in other words on the orders of George W. Bush. Well that is the truth as far as the second post in the entertainment category goes, I suppose President Barrack Obama would have second thoughts when he would want to visit Iraq.

Update: Reportedly, a rich man in Saudi Arabia was bidding the shoe with which bush was hit for somewhere near 100,000 riyals($26,695).

  5. I must admit I did have a laugh everytime this came up on the news, but I think he should get in a lot of trouble for it. If they let him off -they are saying that doing stuff like that is ok.

well its funny that people reply to a comment even before understanding what it meant.

Talking about the post, it’s completely understandable why such bizzare incident took place. It’s not easy being supressed of your rights.

The shoethrower is facing up to 15 years in prison. In comparison the tortures in Abu Graib were mostly free to go, while some got a couple of months or a few years and are all free now.

Ahhh! Bringing democracy to the natives is such a gas!

Freaky, but yet again the support he gained is humongous, although his torture is very hostile. I heard they broke his limbs and some joints of his legs!
